Messaging Server ZFS Support
From MsgServerDocWiki
Does Messaging Server support the use of the ZFS filesystem?
Messaging Server supports the use of the ZFS Filesystem under the following conditions:
- ZFS support does not apply to Linux platforms.
- You must be running a minimum of Solaris OS 10 U3 for Messaging Server 6.3 to support ZFS.
- You must be running at least the following patch level.
| Platform | 32 bit | 64 bit |
|---|---|---|
| Solaris SPARC | 120228-23 | 126479-04 |
| Solaris x86 | 120229-23 | 126480-04 |
These patches have a fix for bug #6580055 - reconstruct cannot detect partially delivered messages
The use of ZFS compression is not recommended at this stage due to bug #6460622 - which results in compression operations being single-threaded and therefore potentially a serious bottleneck. This bug is scheduled to be addressed in Solaris 10u4. Further discussion on ZFS best practice is available here:
